Food & Ingredient Information

Kings Buffet constantly strives to ensure it is using the best quality products and ingredients. We use well-known and recognized distributors of brand names found in every kitchen. Our management team is constantly researching new products and ingredients to make your dining experience even more memorable.

Kings Buffet owners, franchisees and managers are being trained in understanding the increasing importance of food sensitivities and allergies like peanut, shellfish, wheat and other conditions that could threaten the well-being of our customers or their guests.

While great effort is being made to reduce these threats our wide choice of foods, particularly prepared and presented in close proximity to each other, currently make it impractical to eliminate these same threats. For this reason Kings Buffet advises all its customers to use good judgment and precaution when dining. If you or a guest have food allergies, sensitivities or other dietary concerns we urge you to discuss them with outlet management.

MSG (Monosodium Glutamate)

Kings Buffet prides itself on listening to its customers’ concerns, preferences and health concerns. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a natural occurring by-product as well as a synthetically reproduced flavour enhancer and preservative used by many food manufacturers and establishments. Remember the bright red and white Accent package – 100% pure MSG.

Many people consider MSG to be a trigger for food allergies that, in its mildest reaction produces “dry-mouth” all the way through migraine headaches and even potentially lethal anaphylactic shock syndrome.

Kings Buffet eliminated its use as a seasoning several years ago and we say with confidence – “No MSG Added”. However, that being said, some fresh, frozen and pre-prepared products that we purchase (like bacon, sausages, salad dressings and base mixes) have or may have MSG.

Kings Buffet Group regularly updates our information about this and other related issues. We have learned that many foods, including fresh vegetables such as green peppers and mushrooms contain naturally occurring MSG and that any statement regarding its presence, or lack thereof, could potentially be in error.

We want to see you often so please, let management know if you have food allergies or a question regarding our ingredients.
